Internacional (Marketwired, 06 de Agosto de 2013) The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the organization Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau Inc. has been granted federal funding for the international and out-of-province commercialization of the 26th Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival. "This financial support from the Government of Canada to the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival will help further the objectives of enhancing the event's notoriety and increasing its tourism drawing power on foreign markets," said Minister Lebel.

The funding from Canada Economic Development will enable the Festival to pursue the Web marketing efforts it launched several years ago and to carry out various studies. This non-profit organization, a member of the Outaouais regional tourism association (ATR) and of the Major International Events Network, contributes to the promotion of the region's economic and tourism development.

"While the 26th edition was already gearing up to be a promising one, this latest recognition from the federal government further reinforces the overall enthusiasm for the event and underscores its importance to the region," commented Guy Leblanc, Chairman of the Board of Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau Inc. "This substantial financial contribution will allow us to carry out projects that are to the height of our ambition and reputation. We're all set for an amazing international lift-off!"

This assistance, granted in the form of a $120,000 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
