Internacional (Marketwired, 27 de Agosto de 2013) Battelle announced today that Aimee Kennedy will join the company as its new vice president of Education and STEM Learning, reporting to President and CEO Jeff Wadsworth, effective September 3. In her new role, Kennedy will lead Battelle's STEM education initiatives, which are focused around four integrated learning priorities: Standards of Excellence, STEM Learning Networks, Workforce Development and Education Innovation.Kennedy currently is Principal and Chief Academic Officer at the Metro School, an Ohio STEM Learning Network platform school located on The Ohio State University campus. Battelle is a founding partner of the Metro School. Having been at Metro since the school's second year, Kennedy also has served as assistant principal and classroom teacher.

"Her track record in education leadership roles, combined with her hands-on work in the classroom, brings a well-rounded perspective and will help create a clear path to expand the successes of Metro to other schools and school districts."

Kennedy began her teaching career at The Freshman Academy in Canton City Schools — one of Ohio's "Big 8" Urban Districts. During her career in Canton City Schools, Kennedy worked at the Freshmen Academy and McKinley Senior High School where she held a variety of leadership roles including team leader, English Department Chair, and Literacy Specialist. She completed her undergraduate degree at Malone College, with a major in Communications Comprehensive, and earned a Master's in Education and principal licensure at the University of Akron. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Administration at The Ohio State University.
